NAR Mid-Year Meetings

I'm just now catching my breath. Great meetings last week in Washington DC. I was trying to figure out the best way to summarize what happened last week, but I better leave that to our professional NAR staff. Go to this hyperlink, Realtor.org ,to find a daily summary of the meetings. If I had to pick one thing that was the most inspirational event of the week, I'd have to go with Ebby Halliday during the 59 1/2 Minutes updates. I must admit that I've never met Ebby before and never knew of her impact on the NAR and our real estate profession. She's 97 years old and still goes to the office nearly every day; and even opened 4 new offices last year. Doesn't sound like she's too worried about the housing slow down.

The NAR Library/Archive concept was approved by the BOD on Saturday. This initiative has the able to transform our profession to be not just a listing information provider, but a source of all property information; MLS and public. We have always been the source of information relevant to listings and sales; information that we more or less had to dig for and verify. Unfortunately, the exclusivity of that information is slipping through our fingers like sand on the beach. In order to stay relevant to the transaction we need to have as much information as possible on all property. It's a tall order, but we must be at the forefront or we'll be lost in Google dust. (Refer to the above link for details)
